The areas of the competition

This is a photography competition that refers to photos of immovable churches of two separate categories: a) Ancient Churches and b) Modern Churches.

The Ancient Churches are cultural goods that are material testimonies and belong to the cultural heritage and for which special protection is required. In this case we are referring to monuments that existed until the year 1907.

The Modern Churches are the church buildings that have been built after the year 1907 until today. It is noted that the opportunity is provided to participate in the competition with photos of newly or under construction churches dedicated to the "Wisdom of God". In this case, the erection of the external structure of the new church should have been completed.

The competition concerns every Christian church that exists all over the world with the aforementioned characteristics and not only in the Orthodox world.
To assist the contestants, the I.A.O. has posted in an appendix of this text of instructions a list of about 30 well-known monumental churches dedicated to the Wisdom of God. The contestants can optionally apply for the church with which they participate in the competition to be included in the first category by presenting relevant historical documentation. The jury will decide on a similar request.
